About Us
Our Story
Arqam Learning Institute is an online academic learning network that aims to provide ilm (Islamic knowledge) and tarbiyah to Muslims globally. Arqam seeks to offer comprehensive knowledge, rooted in the Qu’ran and Sunnah, taught by internationally renowned speakers. The hope is that ilm gained by students at Arqam can inspire them to become stronger in their iman and strive to make a positive difference in their communities. Arqam Learning Institute is supported by a strong and established team of da’ees and teachers who bring decades of lived and learned experience.
Arqam was sparked and inspired by the example of the sahabi, Arqam bin Abi Arqam (ra). The Prophet SAWS selected the house of a new Muslim named Arqam bin Abi Arqam(ra), which was situated at the foot of Mount Safa. As a young teen, Al Arqam provided his house for the first institution of Islam. The Muslims would gather here, and it is here that they would offer their Salat. It is here that seekers of truth would come and where the Prophet SAWS would preach the religion of Islam to them. Many sahaba, including Omar (ra) accepted Islam in this house. This name serves as inspiration and as a reminder of going back to traditional ways of seeking and implementing knowledge and following the example of the Prophet SAWS and the sahaba.

- In our enthusiasm for seeking knowledge, some may forget the importance of adab in the journey of knowledge. Imam Malik (rh) said, “My mother would dress me up and say to me: Go to Shaykh Rab’iah and learn from his manners before his knowledge.” [Tartib al-Madarik]

- Al-Arqam ibn Abī al-Arqam was an individual gave his own name in the cause of Islam as it was used as the first intitution and place of learning during the time of the Prophet SAWS. As Muslims, we want to strive like Al-Arqam to have this level of selflessness and service for the deen.
